Descriptive Report

After a initial briefing by a police representative, SAR teams were deployed to search areas as assigned. Most search area boundaries were determined by streets. A dog team was sent out get scent article and to follow subject from the LKP (subject residence). An additional team was sent to interview the parents and information gathered was conveyed to the searchers during the initial briefing.

Dog team was unable to track the subject and ceased their effort. All other teams searched their respective areas by a combination of walking and motorized. Because of the lateness and fenced properties, knocking on doors was avoided in favor of interviewing locals encountered on the street and shop owners that were still open and investigating shadows and potential hiding places using flashlights.

About 2400 teams were instructed to return to Base and the search was suspended until the next day. Shortly after this the subject was reported found along one of the main thoroughfares (Massachusetts Ave) in the search area. Search was terminated with a debrief and searchers were released at 0030 7/1/2018.
